“Formula 1927”
The Upper Austrian Eduard Haas III produced the first peppermint candies in 1927.
The refreshing candy—initially available in small tin boxes—was especially popular among high society.
And so PEPPERMINT (in german PFEFFERMINZ) = PEZ
Smoking Prohibited – PEZ Allowed
Eduard Haas III was a convinced non-smoker. With the PEZ dispenser and the campaign “Smoking Prohibited – PEZ Allowed,” he set out to fight smoking.
PEZ Ladies were important brand ambassadors for decades.

PEZ conquered the American market.
Since 1973, there has been an independent branch in Orange, Connecticut, with production and distribution for the USA and Canada.
